What Is Kombucha?
A fermented tea drink that's believed to have originated in China, and has been consumed for over 2,000 years.

SCOBY, the fermenter, and the dual co-exist microorganism.
Kombucha is made by adding yeast and a culture of bacteria to a mixture of black or green tea, sugar, and sometimes additional flavorings or fruit juice. The tea and sugar are blended and then turned into kombucha with the help of something called SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast). This live bacteria sets the stage for a fermentation process, which is what gives kombucha its subtle effervescence and tart-tangy taste.

Meet The SCOBY
Process of Getting SCOBY
During the fermentation, the yeast will consume the sugar given, then converts them into ethanol. These ethanol will be consumed by the bacteria, thus producing healthy compounds. Finally, a layer of SCOBY is formed during the process.
